Physical Education
Overview
Office Hours: Mon & Wed 8:00 - 8:30 Tuesday 3 -3:30
The physical education and health program is designed and intended to promote the general health and overall fitness for students. The goal is to develop physically literate individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity as well as to learn strategies in goal-setting and decision-making skills to enhance their own health. Our program is designed to help students become more aware of health-enhancing behaviors and health risks, in addition to analyzing how culture, media, and technology all influence their health. These important skills that aid students in demonstrating the ability to advocate for their own personal health are easily taught through our extensive PE elective program. Our elective program allows students to begin the process of advocating for themselves by being able to choose their own PE course. Our course offerings include Body Sculpt, Fundamentals of Gymnastics, Yogalates, Swimming, Team Sports, Fitness Training For Athletes, Fitness for Life, Mountain Biking, Self-defense, and Fitness Walking/Trail Hiking.
